This auction is for a used and tested Clansman IB3 Vehicle ANR Intercom system. This is the basic system as fitted to all hard skinned vehicles. It can be used with and to control all the Clansman radios fitted to such vehicles via additional boxes added to allow the radios into the system. It requires a 24v DC input to power the system. It has the standard 7 pin Clansman audio sockets for the head or hand sets to be used.  It comes complete with all connecting cables to make the system active.

It tunes the antenna to the frequency you are on to give optimum performance and achieve maximum range with the equipment. This auction is for a PRC351 VHF FM Manpack set, C/W AUDIO GEAR. The radio cosmetically is in good condition and appearance. It has been tested and is working OK. It is mounted on a Para style lightweight carrying frame in good condition with a good clean  harness/straps, comes with a serviceable and a charged NOS 5Ah rechargeable battery. This set was used for ground to ground communications, mobile and fixed and was the main unit for the infantry. It was the backbone of infantry communications on and off the battlefield. It has a good range across open countryside. It covers 30Mhz to 75.975Mhz with 25Khz channel spacing and 4 Watts output. The handset is tested and in working order. There are also 2 antennas, a 4 section 1.2m folding steel whip and a trailing wire antenna.

                               This setup weighs in at around 12.5 to 14Kg

This fixed price sale is for a USED Vehicle Intercom System.  It comprises of an IB2, 2 radio control box and 2 x CB2 interconnecting crew boxes. Complete with cables, 2 x 12 way connecting cables and a power lead, either from battery terminals or a power distribution box, I can supply either.  The IB2 has functions that the IB3 does not and in my opinion is superiour to the IB3 in audio quality and it has the added function of auto or manual rebroadcasting with either a 321 and 353 or combinations of.

This set has been fully refurbished with a new case, all new seals, switch thumbwheels and backplate. The inner parts were checked and serviced as required and set up again as per it's specifications. The work was done by a radio engineer. The set is now spot on spec and ready to go.

                                                             Clansman PRC-349

This was the standard Hand-held radio of the British army, part of the "Clansman" series of "RACAL" radio equipment. This set has been tested and is bang on spec and frequency.

The PRC-349 is a VHF/FM radio with HALF A WATT OUTPUT and a frequency range, 37 to 46.975 MHz in 25 KHz steps providing 400 possible channels and a maximum output power of 1 Watt. Frequency selection is by small thumb wheel switches on the side of the radio. Has Clansman compatible squelch and whisper modes of operation with battery saving function. Operates from 9.5 to 16v DC using AA batteries or rechargable NiCad batteries.

It comes with a new standard headset with throat mic and mini clip on pressel box, a new carrying case/harness, a new battery cassette to hold 10 x 1.5v batteries, a new 4 section base loaded folding steel antenna, a used and in good condition 0.6m flexible rubber whip antenna, a virtually new NiCad battery fully charged and a genuine user manual. All in an as new waterproof GS ancillaries bag

The PRC-349 is an VHF/FM transceiver intended for personal communication in combat conditions. The radio is designed to be fully compatible with the existing range of Clansman VHF equipment, 350-351-352-353 etc.
The radio can be mounted on the shoulder, chest or back with adjustable quick release straps and holster. It can also be carried inside a back pack or on a belt mounted holster, or simply the pocket of a combat jacket.

Intended for platoon level personal communications under combat conditions. Protection from open or short circuit and receiver overload is inbuilt. A battery saver function is in automatic operation during no-signal conditions.

This auction is for a used BUT still in very good/extremely good condition, Clansman radio testing kit. It can test all aspects of the radios, TX power output, volume and quality of hand and headsets, radiated power from antennas. With the aid of a known good set it can also test the incoming signal and sensitivity and audio quality. Also the battery condition of the radio on test. It will test all the Clansman radios, PRC manpack sets, VRC vehicle sets, fixed base station sets and the 349 hand held. The set also includes a co-ax cable tester for all the military co-ax,.

The only set it cannot test is the UHF RT344.

Whatever power the unit requires it draws it from the radio under test, apart from the 349.
