This auction is for a used BUT still in very good condition, Clansman radio audio testing kit. It can test all aspects of the radios ancillary aduio kit, headsets/handsets/PTT's etc etc, plus all the co-ax leads in use with the Clansman range of radios.  It can also test some of the intercom harness boxes for functiolity and audio quality. It has the options of power from internal batteries or an external 24 to 32v power source. Usually powered from the vehicles electrics or the standard 24v 4 Ah battery. There is an almost idiot proof step by step detailed sequence of how to test all the kit and where to have all the switches for each test sequence on each peice of kit being tested.

THIS AUCTION IS FOR AN OMNIDIRECTIONAL VHF Antenna system,THE GROUND MOUNTED MONOPOLE, complete, (AKA THE WASHING LINE) It is for the fixed ground base station VHF Clansman radios PRC351/2 and the VRC353. The kit is as CES, it consists of the antenna head unit, (THE FREESTANDING ARRAY) 2 lengths of feeder cable, 1 is approx 60Ft of low loss co-ax and a 20Ft approx length of standard co-ax with adapter to join the 2 sizes C to BNC. 4 anchor spikes plus a GS carrying bag. This unit was often used and seen in use with the Comms tents, trailers and trucks as well as the FFR Land Rovers. This antenna is designed to cover the military VHF band from 30Mhz to 80Mhz

They're an impressive piece of kit to have out on show at shows and displays, easily erected and packed away into it's own GS Tote bag with it's ancillaries.

                                                             Clansman UK RT349 PRC-349 Grade 2

This was the standard Hand-held radio of the British army, part of the "Clansman" series of "RACAL" radio equipment. This set has been tested and is bang on spec and frequency.

The PRC-349 is a VHF/FM radio with a frequency range is 37 to 46.975 MHz in 25 KHz steps providing 400 possible channels and a maximum output power of 1 Watt. Frequency selection is by small thumb wheel switches on the side of the radio. Has Clansman compatible squelch and whisper modes of operation with battery saving function. Operates from 9.5 to 16v DC using AA batteries or rechargable NiCad battery.

It comes with the standard TELEPHONE STYLE HANDSET INSTEAD OF THE STANDARD HEADSET , 0.65m rubber base loaded whip antenna, battery cassette, all used, tested, working and servicable, plus a GS tote bag with straps for the ancillaries.

The PRC-349 is an VHF/FM transceiver intended for personal communication in combat conditions. The radio is designed to be fully compatible with the existing range of Clansman VHF equipment, 350-351-352-353 etc.
The radio can be mounted on the shoulder, chest or back with adjustable quick release straps and holster. It can also be carried inside a back pack or on a belt mounted holster, or simply the pocket of a combat jacket.

 Intended for platoon level personal communications under combat conditions. Protection from open or short circuit and receiver overload is inbuilt. A battery saver function is in automatic operation during no-signal conditions.

THIS IS THE SET-UP MOST OFTEN FOUND IN THE LAND ROVER GS AND GP TRUCKS, FFR and NON FFR VEHICLES. This set was used for ground to ground communications, mobile and fixed and was the main unit for the infantry. It was the backbone of infantry communications on and off the battlefield. It has a good range across open countryside. It covers 30Mhz to 76.975Mhz with 25Khz channel spacing and 4 Watts output. 

This setup weighs in at around 7.5 to 10Kg

FULL PRC 350 MANPACK CLIP IN INSTALLATION KIT FOR LAND ROVER FFR, GS and GP Trucks. THESE UNITS WERE FITTED TO THE FRONT WING OF A VEHICLE TO ALLOW COMMUNICATIONS ON THE MOVE. THE UNIT IS VERY EASILY FITTED AND REMOVED. THESE MOUNTING UNITS/KITS ARE RARELY SEEN FOR SALE AND TO FIND ONE IN AS NEW CONDITION IS VERY RARE. IT COMES WITH A GENUINE 350 USER MANUAL, PAGE 25 & 26 COVER INSTALLATION AND USE OF THIS UNIT. THE UNIT HAS THE SAME BASEPLATE FITTINGS AS A TUAAM BOX AND WILL FIT DIRCTLY TO THE FRONT WINGS OF AN FFR LIGHTWEIGHT, OTHER TYPES OF LANDIES WILL NEED THE TUAAM MOUNTING PLATE FITTING, OR YOU CAN FIT IT DIRECTLY TO THE FRONT WING.
