CLANSMAN PRC352 COVERT OPS OR LONG PATROL SETUP

THIS IS THE STANDARD INFANTRYMANS PLATOON LEVEL RADIO THAT FORMED THE BACKBONE OF THE COMMUNICATIONS IN THE BRITISH INFANTRY, PART OF THE CLANSMAN FAMILY OF RADIO EQUIPMENT. THIS SET HAS BEEN TESTED AND IS BANG ON SPEC AND FREQUENCY.

The PRC352 is a VHF FM radio with a frequency range of 30 to 75.975Mhz in 25Khz steps giving around 2000 available channels, and a maximum output of 4 Watts RF, or 20 Watts when driving the 20 W RF amplifier. Frequency selection is by small thumb wheels on the side of the radio. It has Clansman compatibale  squelch and whisper mode of operation with battery saving function. Operates from 19 to 30v DC  using rechargeable batteries, or the hand cranked generator. This setup also does away with the need for the use of solar shields in desert and tropical deployments.

This setup I'm told was designed so that the Radio Operator  wasn't such an easy target to spot by a sniper, using this setup and a trailing wire antenna along with a single ear piece headset with a throat mic and mini clip on pressel he would be harder to spot as a radio operator and so less of a target.

This set comprises of a NEW and GENUINE RUCKSACK CARRYING SYSTEM with an add on full size Kipling ancillary pouch, a PRC351 radio with a 4 Watt SURF tuning unit, a 20 Watt RF Amplifier, the addition of which now makes this a PRC352, a hand cranked 28v generator and 1x 5Ah NOS serviceable rechargeable batterie.

All of the ancillary equipment is GRADE 1, new or as  new, 1 x new 0.65m Rubber flexible and 1 x new 1.2m folding steel and a new 1.2m trailing wire antennas,1 x new single ear headset with throat mic and mini clip on pressel, 1 x as new lightweight pattern headset with boom mic, 1 x as new pressel switch and lead, 1 x as new standard handset.

Both RF connecting leads, radio to SURF and radio or SURF to Amp, both used and in perfect working order.

Plus a GENUINE 76 PAGE USER MANUAL.

The setup also includes a full GSA Kit (Ground Spike Antenna) for use with the 20 Watt RF amp.

The PRC351/2 is a VHF FM radio set intended for platoon and personal communications under combat conditions. It is designed to be fully compatible with all the Clansman VHF radios, PRC349/350 and VRC353.

                               This setup weighs in at a little over 20Kg

This auction is for a UK RT 320 PACK-SET A PRC320 HF 30 Watt Manpack set. The radio is far better in appearance than the sets generally available. It has been tested and is working perfectly in all modes of operation, which are AM,CW(w) SSB(upper) CW(n). It is mounted on a (V/Good) lightweight Para carrying frame and harness, it also comes with a GOOD/NOS  NiCad battery, GRADE 1 AS NEW AUDIO GEAR, HEADSET AND PRESSEL SWITCH UNIT, PLUS A NEW 2.5m FOLDING ANTENNA.   THE 12w SURF UNIT IS NOT INCLUDED, WE ARE OUT OF STOCK AND IT IS ONLY THERE NOW TO SHOW WHERE IT WOULD BE FITTED.

I have just received some GS manpack carriers with some adapter plates to fit the 320 so I can now supply these radios on a GS carrier and ready to clip in to a Land Rover or vehicle of your choice. I can also supply the vehicle mounting bracket as pictured in one of my other sales for a PRC352 clip in set-up.

                                                             Clansman UK RT349 PRC-349 Grade 2

This was the standard Hand-held radio of the British army, part of the "Clansman" series of "RACAL" radio equipment. This set has been tested and is bang on spec and frequency.

The PRC-349 is a VHF/FM radio with a frequency range is 37 to 46.975 MHz in 25 KHz steps providing 400 possible channels and a maximum output power of 1 Watt. Frequency selection is by small thumb wheel switches on the side of the radio. Has Clansman compatible squelch and whisper modes of operation with battery saving function. Operates from 9.5 to 16v DC using AA batteries or rechargable NiCad battery.

It comes with the standard TELEPHONE STYLE HANDSET INSTEAD OF THE STANDARD headset with a throat mic and mini pressel switch, 0.65m rubber base loaded whip antenna, battery, all used, working and servicable, plus a GS tote bag with straps for the ancillaries.

The PRC-349 is an VHF/FM transceiver intended for personal communication in combat conditions. The radio is designed to be fully compatible with the existing range of Clansman VHF equipment, 350-351-352-353 etc.
The radio can be mounted on the shoulder, chest or back with adjustable quick release straps and holster. It can also be carried inside a back pack or on a belt mounted holster, or simply the pocket of a combat jacket.

 Intended for platoon level personal communications under combat conditions. Protection from open or short circuit and receiver overload is inbuilt. A battery saver function is in automatic operation during no-signal conditions.

This auction is for a used BUT still in very good condition, Clansman radio audio testing kit. It can test all aspects of the radios ancillary aduio kit, headsets/handsets/PTT's etc etc, plus all the co-ax leads in use with the Clansman range of radios.  It can also test some of the intercom harness boxes for functiolity and audio quality. It has the options of power from internal batteries or an external 24 to 32v power source. Usually powered from the vehicles electrics or the standard 24v 4 Ah battery. There is an almost idiot proof step by step detailed sequence of how to test all the kit and where to have all the switches for each test sequence on each peice of kit being tested.

The kit is as CES, it consists of the antenna head unit, (THE FREESTANDING ARRAY) 2 lengths of feeder cable, 1 is approx 60Ft of low loss co-ax and a 20Ft approx length of standard co-ax with adapter to join the 2 sizes C to BNC. 4 anchor spikes plus a GS carrying bag. This unit was often used and seen in use with the Comms tents, trailers and trucks as well as the FFR Land Rovers. This antenna is designed to cover the military VHF band from 30Mhz to 80Mhz

They're an impressive piece of kit to have out on show at shows and displays, easily erected and packed away into it's own GS Tote bag with it's ancillaries.

It can test all aspects of the radios, TX power output, volume and quality of hand and headsets, radiated power from antennas. With the aid of a known good set it can also test the incoming signal and sensitivity and audio quality. Also the battery condition of the radio on test. It will test all the Clansman radios, PRC manpack sets, VRC vehicle sets, fixed base station sets and the 349 hand held. The set also includes a co-ax cable tester for all the military co-ax,.

The only set it cannot test is the UHF RT344.

Whatever power the unit requires it draws it from the radio under test, apart from the 349.
