                                                             Clansman UK RT349 PRC-349 Grade 2

This was the standard Hand-held radio of the British army, part of the "Clansman" series of "RACAL" radio equipment. This set has been tested and is bang on spec and frequency.

The PRC-349 is a VHF/FM radio with a frequency range is 37 to 46.975 MHz in 25 KHz steps providing 400 possible channels and a maximum output power of 1 Watt. Frequency selection is by small thumb wheel switches on the side of the radio. Has Clansman compatible squelch and whisper modes of operation with battery saving function. Operates from 9.5 to 16v DC using AA batteries or rechargable NiCad battery.

It comes with the standard TELEPHONE STYLE HANDSET INSTEAD OF THE STANDARD headset with a throat mic and mini pressel switch, 0.65m rubber base loaded whip antenna, battery, all used, working and servicable, plus a GS tote bag with straps for the ancillaries.

The PRC-349 is an VHF/FM transceiver intended for personal communication in combat conditions. The radio is designed to be fully compatible with the existing range of Clansman VHF equipment, 350-351-352-353 etc.
The radio can be mounted on the shoulder, chest or back with adjustable quick release straps and holster. It can also be carried inside a back pack or on a belt mounted holster, or simply the pocket of a combat jacket.

 Intended for platoon level personal communications under combat conditions. Protection from open or short circuit and receiver overload is inbuilt. A battery saver function is in automatic operation during no-signal conditions.

THIS LISTING IS FOR A 5.4mt MAST KIT COMPLETE, a GSA (Ground Spike Antenna) KIT complete and an EKGSA (Elevation Kit Ground Spike Antenna KIT)  to have the GSA working on top of the 5.4m mast  ALL 3 KITS ARE IN USED CONDITION.

This is for a used UK RT 319 PRC319,  It has been used and looks to be complete and is in working order. I have tried some test frequencies in the main set and all seems OK, no errors shown. I have fitted a working EMU and tested it with the EMU sending and all seems OK, no errors shown. It has a good 24v rechargeable battery, working TURF (Tuner Unit RF) and a working TURF Extender unit, plus long wire antenna elements, (not in pics). It also looks to have a full set of ancillaries as shown in the pics.  Used by the SAS and other insurgent forces for secure comms and data transfer. This one is in a good satchel/bergen and side bags.  These sets are fast becoming collectors pieces and getting quite rare.

I now have a copy of the user manual on CD available. It details all the test to perform to put the unit into service on receipt

This auction is for a used UK RT 319 PRC319, USB/LSB set. It has been used and is complete and is in good working order.  Taken in PX for some vehicle HF sets.

It has been modified and has had switchable LSB mode added and it is avaialable across the whole of the 319's operating bandwidth.  This is one of a pair of LSB sets I have available at the moment. You are bidding for a bare set with no ancillaries, leads or batttery, it is the set in the pictures, serial number 1362

This auctio is for a UK RT 344 - PRC344 UHF Manpack set. The radio is fair to good in appearance. It has been tested and is working OK AND ON SPEC@ 2WATT AM OUTPUT, comes with a serviceable NOS and charged NiCad battery. This set was used mainly for ground to air support or air recon. A few selected units used it for ground to ground coms. It covers 220Mhz to 399.950Mhz AM in 50Khz channel spacing. This is the military air band and is still widely used so there are many military sites to listen out for.

It was the backbone of infantry communications on and off the battlefield. It has a good range across open countryside. It covers 30Mhz to 76.975Mhz with 25Khz channel spacing and 4 Watts output.
